So you’re planning on getting married and looking for amazing South Coast wedding venues? Well, you’ve come to the right place as I am an experienced South Coast wedding photographer with a tonne of knowledge about this vast and beautiful area and its venues!

This is a little guide to help you guys on your journey. The venues listed here are some of my favourite venues to photograph, due to scenery, food, and logistical ease for your guests. They are also not listed in order of preference.

Amazing South Coast Wedding Venues to Consider!

Merribee House, Numbaa

Merribee is a seven-acre property on NSW’s South Coast that features a historic farmhouse, accommodation and curated gardens, all brought back to life by owners Lucy and Richard Marshall since they purchased the property in 2000.

The landscape, in particular, is amazing. If you are looking for many unreal backdrops for your wedding photos, then this place is a must. It is a highly sort after wedding venue on the South Coast of NSW.

Every time you go to visit, you’ll find something new to discover. If you love huge open gardens and mini walks, then this venue could be the one for you! The lined tree area, in particular, is an amazing area to hold your reception. If you don’t like an outdoor option for the reception, there’s also the amazing rustic barn. Options, options, options! Here’s a full Merribee House wedding, that showcases the venue in its entirety.

Driftwood Shed, Terara

The Driftwood Shed is situated on 5 rural acres on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River.

The property comprises a self-contained cabin and a rustic 80-year-old shed filled with old wares. It’s fully kitted out and is going for the rustic themed DIY weddings. The boys usually get dressed in the cabin, it has amazing light for getting ready photos, with lots of unique textures.

“With mountain views, parklike gardens and country charm, it is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed, laid back venue for that special occasion.” A snippet from their website, you can agree that they’ve nailed the description here.

There is also a private jetty and boat ramp where the guests can view amazing sunsets over the river!

Jaspers, Berry

Here’s a snipper from Jaspers’ website, “…nestled in green pastures, Jaspers is not just another Wedding Venue…it is a place full of stories and surprises… an enchanted hideaway – a place where the magic happens at every Wedding”. I think that perfectly paints the picture for this magnificent venue. Just like the other venues, it has everything going for it!

Jaspers is another venue on the South Coast of NSW with exquisitely manicured gardens. Plenty of nooks to choose from for your wedding photos. It also boasts a lovely bridal prep room for all the girls to get ready in.

Here’s a lovely Jaspers wedding I photographed. It’ll give you an idea of the South Coast venue and its surroundings.

Seacliff House, Gerringong

Seacliff House is surrounded by rolling green dairy country hills with stunning views of the Ocean.

It’s another unique DIY property, known for its barn and vistas. You can experience some amazing sunrises and sunsets as the venue is positioned perfectly atop a hill in Gerringong. The barn vibe is clean and industrial; it pretty much can cater for any style of wedding.

Willow Farm, Berry

Willow Farm in Berry is huge. It covers 160 acres of lush green farmland and a beautiful creek and is also made famous for its dead willow tree.

There’s also lots to do before and after the wedding if you are planning a little weekends getaway for the close family and friends. Berry is a lovely town and Willow Farm is pretty much smack, bang in Berry.

Terara Riverside Gardens

Riverside Gardens is another unique DIY property. This beautiful south coast venue is located on the beautiful Shoalhaven River, Terara.

It has many photo options and the owners are constantly building new gardens which are a massive bonus! Another bonus is where it sits on the river. You can get amazing photos of the sunset. It’s is remarkably beautiful!

If you are looking for an all in one venue, this place could be that option. Get ready on-site in one of their properties as well as have your ceremony on with the amazing farm land for the backdrop.

My Favourite Venue?

Well, that is one tough question! I don’t think I have a favourite as they all are awesome! The scenery at all south coast venues is amazing. The catering from each of the venues is second to none. The staff and owners are excellent and know how to look after you!

The best advice I can give is to plan a weekend away and try and see as many of the above listed as possible. Some may suit your wedding budget than others. But, best to go with the heart. You only get married once!

I hope you enjoyed reading all the above info. They are all fantastic venues on the South Coast of NSW and you pretty much can’t go wrong with either. I love shooting at all these venues, so if you are getting married, shoot me an email here.
