It’s the end of 2020 and now I’m finally able to sit down and write up some blogs, the first one off the rank is a beautiful and intimate affair; Megan and Michael’s Bannisters wedding!
Megan and Michael were due to have their awesome wedding in Wellington, New Zealand on the 23rd of July with 110 of the beautiful family and friends but had postpone the wedding until July 2021 due to COVID. COVID, the 2020 famous curveball that took the world by storm!
They however decided to have their intimate Bannisters wedding with 10 of their very special guests in Mollymook, NSW. Michael’s family is from Canberra and holidays at Mollymook most summers. Megan’s family is from America and couldn’t make it to Australia for the wedding, due to obvious reasons.
They both met in Wellington, New Zealand nearly four years ago and have been together ever since. Megan was in Wellington for several years, and in New Zealand for 11 years after moving from the USA. Michael was in Wellington for work for 2 years, and they met at a rugby (union) game through Megan’s old flatmate who worked with Michael. They both share a love of hiking and the outdoors together and in their words, “love an adventure”! They both moved to Melbourne 3 years ago, but do prefer a slower, quieter pace which is why they wanted to be married near the sea.
Due to Megan’s family not being present during the ceremony, a laptop was organised with a Zoom meeting setup. It went well without a hitch. There’s a few shots of Megan having a quick chat to her mother just before the ceremony. It was a really beautiful moment.
My coverage for the day began with Megan getting ready. They later got married on the back lawn of their Bannisters property, finishing up with some beautiful portraits into sunset. They later celebrated their love at a private dinner.
I’d love to shoot at Bannisters again or the south coast, so please get in touch if you dig my pics! Here’s another intimate south coast wedding of Gabe and Matt at Eagles Rest, Berry.
