I was invited to fly over to Thailand to photograph Maala and Rohan’s beautiful Indian wedding at the stunning Intercontinental Hotel. This Samui wedding was simply stunning!
Indian wedding’s are full of colour, dancing and amazing cultural ceremonies, which tend to go over numerous days. This wedding was a big one! It went for five days, four days in Thailand and one day in beautiful Sydney at the stunning Cafe Sydney, Circular Quay venue.
The Epic Samui Wedding
Day 1 – Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park, Thailand
We spent the afternoon jet boating out to the Mu Ko Ang Thong marine park, it took about an hour to get out there, so it gives you can idea of just how far away from land we were. The location was stunning, if I could put more images in this post I would.
After setting foot back on the mainland Maala and Rohan quickly changed for a quick sunset shoot on the beach at the bottom of the Intercontinental resort.
Day 2 – Maaiya (Cleansing Ceremony) and the Sangheet
We had another chance to do another shoot, hoping to get a better sunset than yesterday. I think it paid off this time round 🙂
I nearly cut my finger off getting the sunset shot below, it was all about “chasing the light”, and boy, was it worth it!
After the shoot above we were then amazed by some great performances by some of the guests. What an amazing night!
Day 3 – Prayers and Mendhi (Henna)
Love the mini coconut smash!
Day 4 – The Wedding Day – An Epic Day!
Nice and early in the morning a bangle ceremony began, this is where the bangles are blessed and placed onto Maala’s arms. She must wear these for a certain amount of days.
The boys and girls now proceed to get dressed.
The elephant below is massive, I guess looking at Tarzan riding on top gives you an idea of just how big he was. The temperature on this day was around 35 degrees celcius and the humidity was through the roof, we were all sweating our butts off! But boy, was it an experience, as you will see below.
The poor little scissors!
Day 5 – Old Sydney Town
