Laura and Curtis’ Barn on Melross wedding was held mid Autumn in the beautiful Kangaroo Valley. The area is known for its lovely farm vistas and rugged mountain tops that light up at sunset. It really is one of the Southern Highlands sweet spots for beauty.
I photographed Laura’s brothers wedding nearly 2 years ago since writing this blog post; the memories are flooding in. I do remember how awesome the group of friends are; welcoming and just so easy to get along with.
Curtis told me when he first met Laura with a bunch of his friends, he couldn’t resist remembering her smile as she walked through the door to their room. From that point on he knew she was “the one”.
Many moons later he proposed to her in an epic location, the Swiss Alps. Laura obviously said yes and the rest is history.
The Wedding Day
I’m normally weary of no clouds in the sky as the light is quite harsh. But, as a photographer we have to make do with the light. Luckily, we know how to play with it. On the morning of the wedding Curtis and I talked about the best placement for the ceremony due to the light. We positioned it facing East, where everything would be evenly lit.
That out of the way, the rest of the day went fine and smooth. Laura and Curtis decided to have a first look, before they married to ease the nerves. It was super special.
After the Ceremony we ventured around the Melross Farm property. It’s quite large with heaps of places to choose from. We are spoiled for choice these days.
They later partied on in the Barn on Melross in the Southern Highlands, finishing off with a bang.
