Oh my! Where to begin on this amazing Deckhouse Wedding in Woolwich. I think I have an idea. Let us start with the wedding photo below. Picture beauty in chaos. A rainy day with a super carefree bride and groom walking amongst it. Enter, Lucy and Adam who I think represent what I wrote above perfectly. The shot focusing on the chaos of the moment, with subtle beauty behind.
Deckhouse Woolwich Wedding!
I had an absolute blast at this Deckhouse wedding. To be honest, it felt like I was photographing a friends wedding. I think the more comfortable you guys are in front of me and my camera, the more you let me in. Plus you also get to hear my terrible jokes 🙂
Ok, now for a bit about the day… Lucy got ready at an AirBnb close to the Church in Woolwich. The good thing about AirBnb’s for weddings, is you can choose the look you’d like for getting ready, as well as choosing a place with nice natural light for you preparation wedding photos. Logistically it’s a great idea too as you save time from travelling long distances between spots. Sorta stress free if you ask me.
The wedding service was held an old Catholic Church, St Peter Chanel, Woolwich. It was a beautiful celebration with a lot of tears. The positive energy was brilliant!
We later ventured around the streets for some portraits, dodging the heavy bits rain. I think we were quite lucky around Deckhouse for their wedding pictures. The sun peeped out for a moment and put on quite a show for their wedding pictures.
Have a look through to see more. I’ve included some little text snippets to give you a bit more info about the images.
This is Lucy’s hand holding her mothers hand. There’s three rings there, one from each of Lucy’s mums children. I think it’s a special gift, so I decided to get a shot of that as it’s shows the strong bond this family has.
This is probably my most favourite part of the day. Lucy and Adam walk out and get smothered with hugs and kisses. These moments are priceless. You can literally feel the positive energy there at that moment.
I really dig that they brought this tradition back. I reckon heaps more weddings should do this.
This Fiat, how bloody cute is it! I had to do a shot like this, so sorry for extra posing. I think it just fit the occasion.
What a cool way to arrive to the reception venue! Also getting hammered in the face with confetti, haha.
