I know this seems strange, but a lot of photographers get nervous when shooting other photographers. You would think it would be the other way around, buuut it’s not! So I was extremely nervous before photographing Mario and Cristina’s Bendooley Estate wedding in Berrima. Mario is a great landscape photographer and knows a lot about cameras and composition so the pressure was on for this one!
Their Bendooley Estate Wedding was filled with emotion, laughter and tears. For most of the day, Mario carried a time piece and Cristina carried a knitted blanket. These two things played a big part in this wedding. Mario’s time piece belonged to his grandfather, who couldn’t make it to the wedding because of illness. So Mario wore the watch with the set time for 3:30pm, the exact time of their wedding ceremony.
The blanket that Christina carried was 65 years old! Handed down to Cristina for her wedding day, the blanket was made by her grandmother in her teens, and was also used for Critsina’s mother’s baptism.
There was a lot of history being carried around on the day, making it even more special to be a part of! The obvious love that these two have for each other and for family shone through all day long. It was really wonderful to see, and I really enjoyed being around these two special people. I thank them so much for letting me capture their wedding!
BENDOOLEY ESTATE WEDDING
I’d love to photograph more weddings at Bendooley Estate and the surrounding Southern Highlands and Bowral areas. If you like my photos, please get in contact with me here.
Our friends at Mitch Hickman Films shot their wedding film; it’s beautiful!
Have a look at one of my other weddings here if you have some more spare time. And here’s another Bendooley Book Barn wedding.
